I'm working on large content mod, aiming to quadruple the playtime of the base game. Several bosses, stages, lore, etc.
Working on the first modded boss right now and wondering what people expect from a Minecraft bossfight. I have plenty experience in bossfights in other games, but Minecraft is first-person and the player isn't very mobile...
What elements should I include in my bossfights?
i'd say large attacks that would affect the terrain (such as explosions or just a booby trapped arena), and different phases to make it more interesting. probably some minions too
also lookin forward to for the mod, cause there would need to be a lot of content, how far are you into making it?
Working on it in order of progression. Added post-dragon ore and gear, along with some "lore items" and small vanilla changes.
Already have all of the story, bosses, and progression stages typed down.
Modeling and animating the first modded boss currently.
Noting that this is heavily inspired by Terraria and its mods. Bosses are crucial to progression.
sounds very cool, good luck
hard but fair at the same time. If it's too hard and feels unfair, it's not a boss i want to do.
