A simple mod for Redstone lovers and mapmakers. I present you with my take on a Laser Mod!

Features:

  • Laser Blocks that emit a white laser.
  • White lasers can be colored by passing through stained glass of a different color.
  • 16 different colored lasers.
  • Use stained glass to block lasers of a different color and allow matching colored lasers through.
  • A detector block, which emits redstone power when a laser points at the detector face.
  • Stained glass glows up and emits dim light when a laser passes through.
  • Lasers work underwater.
  • A Laser focus, which redirects the laser in a different direction.
  • Activate the laser focus with Redstone to flip it 180 degrees.
  • Crafting recipes for the laser block, detector and laser focus.

Endless creativity with a simple set of rules and all the colors at your disposal.

Second version

Lasers cannot pass through one other, nor can they pass through transparent blocks other than (stained) glass blocks.

Known issue:

The glow effect of the lasers does not work all the time.

if you add the portal gun mod to minecraft and those blocks and this mod you can literally make portal 2 in minecraft lol

Your mod is looking great, and I want to know if the laser is made with custom blocks or particles ?

I discovered 2 bugs:

1. Placing/pushing a laser block in front of another laser does not break the laser.
2. When a laser blocks a different laser and the first laser is turned off, only half of the laser is cut off depending on the orientation.

I will fix these bugs when I can buy the time.

Would be really cool if this mod had blocks like redstone controllable mirrors, gates and such. Otherwise I really like it :D

mirrors would be cool indeed. I thought it was possible to redirect lasers by just a detector and another laser block but I discovered that is not the same. I will make mirrors if I can buy the time.
About gates, If you want something to block the laser and let it through when powered by Redstone, you can simply use a piston with a block.
