custom trees

ive been trying to make custom trees and everything worked out so far, the only problem im facing is: whenever i bonemeal the custom tree sapling, when it grows, it doesnt grow from the sapling but a few blocks besides it. i cant seem 2 fix it. anybody had this problem?/(and) knows how to fix this?.
