Introduction
Alchemic is a magic mod that adds a custom potion brewing system to Minecraft.
It is recommended that you play with JEI in order to view all of the recipes and items that the mod adds, but Alchemic does not require any other mods to run.
This mod was made in under a week, so expect bugs. If you find any bugs, please report them in the comment section.

Getting Started
In order to get started, you will need to obtain a few different items. The first of these items is Blazeglass Shards. They can be obtained by breaking Blazeglass, which generates in the Nether like this:
Blazeglass Shards can be used to craft Warped Blazeglass Flasks and Blaze Reagent using these recipes. These will be useful later.
Next, you will need to create Brewer's Steel Ingots in order to craft an Alchemist's Cauldron. Brewer's Steel Ingots can be created like so:
With Brewer's Steel Ingots, you can craft Brewer's Steel Blocks, and then an Alchemist's Cauldron, which is crafted like this:
Once you place down your Alchemist's Cauldron, you can start brewing elixers (it was a typo now its a stylistic choice).
Brewing Elixers
Once you open the Alchemist's Cauldron's GUI by right clicking on it, you will be greeted by this (yes, I do have potion ingredients in my inventory):
As you probably can see, there are 5 slots in the GUI. Let me explain the purpose of each.
The slot with the Warped Blazeglass Flask icon on it is the bottle slot, and that is where you place your flasks/items marked as bottles in cauldron recipes.
The slot with the Carrot icon on it is the Primary Ingredient slot, and it is where you place your primary ingredients/items marked as primary ingredients in cauldron recipes.
The slot with the Fermented Spider Eye icon on it is the Secondary Ingredient slot, and it is where you place your secondary ingredients/items marked as secondary ingredients in cauldron recipes.
The slot with the Dust icon on it is the Reagent slot, and it is where you place your reagents/items marked as reagents in cauldron recipes.
The slot with no icon is the output slot.
Now it's time to brew!
Once you have put the items in their appropriate slots you can shift right-click the cauldron to start the recipe, which will take about 10 seconds to brew. I won't be showing you the result because the outputs are for you to discover!
Duration and Power Reagents can be used instead of the Blaze Reagent in the recipe and will act like Redstone and Glowstone do in vanilla brewing.
The Blazeglass Flask can hold the same amount of liquid as three bottles, which means you can drink from it three times before it runs out of elixer.
Researching Ingredients
The Research Table is an important block in making sure you get the result you want when brewing. It can be crafted like this (you can use any planks or wooden slabs in the recipe):
Once placed down, you can right-click the Research Desk to be greeted with this GUI:
The icons next to the item slot show which slot in the Alchemist's Cauldron the item should be placed in, and the nine circles on the side will be used to show the item's alchemical properties which are from top to bottom:
- Arcane
- Natural
- Infernal
Here are some examples of items in the GUI:
If there is a plus next to a line of those circles, that means it adds an amount of that alchemical property to the concoction, and if there is a minus next to it, it subtracts that much instead.
Hints & Tips
You can either brew one of these ingredients with a Sculk Vein to result in an elixer with that potion effect, or brew together a primary and secondary ingredient with the same alchemical properties when combined as the potion effect’s primary ingredient has on its own.

PLEASE DO NOT POST YOU RECIPES IN THE COMMENTS. IT WILL RUIN THE FUN OF DISCOVERING THEM FOR OTHERS!
1.2.0
- Added the Imbuer (originally planned for 1.1.0).
- Added Imbuement Cores.
- Added Potion Bags (The textures were created by malcolmriley on github).
- Overhauled the crafting for Draconic Elixers to make the imbuer more viable.
1.1.0
- Added Draconic Elixers:
- New Reagent: Dragonglass Shard
- Draconic Elixers have amplifiers or durations beyond vanilla numbers.
- Added new elixer effect: Dolphin's Grace.
- Overhauled the elixer brewing code to be easier to add more recipes.
Sadly there are not any unique effects beyond the potions in the creative tab.
Good idea though.
I might make a rework of alchemic in the future that utilizes a more modular potion system with room for multiple effects which would encourage more experimentation to get the best recipes (I mostly want to take advantage of all the new MCreator plugins).
Also sorry for not responding for a 16 days.
Hey, I'm checking out your mod and wondering, whether there are any new effects possible other than the ones listed in the creative tab. I think the crafting system is really great, but I think it would be cool to have some new effect options to make researching new recipes more rewarding. If I'm wrong and there are actually new unique potions you can craft, I may need additional hints to figure out how to craft them 😅
